Meetings
Each month an Adobe-related topic or demonstration is presented by a variety of local and visiting experts. The meetings are free and open to anyone who is interested in learning about Adobe products and meeting other Adobe enthusiasts.
Our Next Meeting
After Effects by Steve Connor at Friday January 11, 2013 (1:15 - 3:30)
After Effects instructor Steve Connor (Deep4D) will demonstrate some of After Effect's features and abilities during this meeting
After Effects is Adobe's tool for video post-production and special effects. This software is for green screening, color adjustments, animated titles, 3D animation, motion tracking, and much more. Since After Effects uses layers and blend modes, it's a tool that is accessible to anyone who works in Photoshop.
Steve Connor is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop (since CS4) and an Autodesk Certified Instructor in 3ds Max. He has a BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY, where he studied abstract painting and art education. He teaches Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and 3ds Max. Previously he was a designer in Silicon Valley, working both in an ad agency as an art director, and in his own freelance business. Currently, he works with clients in the areas of design and video, and is developing and offering classes in Adobe software.

Membership advantages
Why join the Austin Adobe User Group? Besides meeting other Adobe enthusiasts and learning how to use Adobe software (through demonstrations at meetings), there are special discounts that are available only for User Group members. These discounts are for Adobe products and training, including a discount from Lynda.com and also from some of our training sponsors. And members are eligible to win door prizes provided by sponsors and one of the twice-yearly Adobe software drawings; see below for details. Questions: Email austinadobegroupmgr@gmail.com
Twice-yearly Drawing for Adobe Software
To encourage people to join and participate in the local user groups, Adobe allows each user group to have a drawing for one Adobe software package valued up to $2100 twice a year. The Austin Adobe User group holds the drawings at the June and December meetings. All members who are present at the drawing are eligible to win their choice of an Adobe product that retails for up to $2100.
How to increase your chances to win
- Attend the meetings. You must attend at least one meeting before the drawing to be a member and be eligible for the drawing. Each meeting you attend increases your chances.
- Do something that benefits the group - review a book, give a presentation, or contribute in another way. Giving a presentation at a meeting gives the most "bonus" tickets. (Note: one of the two group managers often gives presentations; but as a manager he is not eligible for this drawing)
If you want to volunteer and earn extra tickets towards the drawing or have any questions, contact Donna Blumberg, austinadobegroupmgr@gmail.com.
Adobe Certified Expert Peer Study Group
